Shop Venting Pipe by Fuel Type
What are the different Fuel Types?
Different types are manufactured to different material specifications to handle the different temperature ranges produced by all the appliances. The type is heavily affected by the fuel that is actually used.
For example a natural gas produces a temperature normally below 500°, while a block of wood, oil, or coal burns at nearly 2100°!
Below is a small example of the appliance used, and what type is required. As you can see, there are certain types that are not only engineered for a certain fuel type, but also for a specific application.
|Type||Tempurature Range||Pipe Required|
|Gas Insert/Fireplace||200-350°F ||Type B Gas Vent|
|Wood Pellet Stove/Insert ||600-1000°F ||Type L Pellet Vent|
|Corn Pellet Stove/Insert ||750-1200°F ||Corn Pellet Vent|
