Use quality galvanized or black-coated stove pipe to enhance the heat output of your wood stove. Stove Pipe is used from the stove to the ceiling or wall, and is then usually transitioned to a Class A Chimney Pipe system to pass through insulation, roofing, and extend into the outside air.

How To Build Your System

Single Wall:
Construction: Single-walled pipe is made of very light gauge steel. There is no insulation (either mineral/fiber or air barrier) present.
Clearance: 18" Clearance
Warranty: Most single wall comes with only a 5 year warranty.

Pros: Radiates a great amount of heat, helping heat rooms quickly.

Cons: Because of its very light construction and the type of steel used; the caustic exhaust produced by your appliance quickly eats the material away. 

Double Wall:
Construction: Single-walled pipen is made of very light gauge steel. There is no insulation (either mineral/fiber or air barrier) present.
Clearance: 6" to walls, 8" to ceilings
Warranty: Most double wall comes with a 10 year warranty.

Pros: Because of its heavier construction and the type of steel used double-walled pipe is much more resistant to degredation over time.
Reduced Clearance; only 6" to walls compared to 18" of single-wall.
The second wall of air insulation keeps the internal core hotter, boosting draft and efficiency.

Cons: Heavier, more expensive.
